Frequently Asked Questions
We know that a lot about dentistry is a bit of a mystery for patients, and we’re here to change that! Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive every day. This is an excellent place to start whether you want to know more about our dental office or oral health care in general! If you have a question that still needs to be answered, be sure to give us a call today.
How often should I be seeing a dentist?
Our team (along with the American Dental Association) recommends that patients of all ages should plan to attend at least two dental checkups and cleanings each year. These preventive appointments give our dentists the chance to catch and treat problems during their earliest stages, plus they go a long way in preventing the development of many issues in the first place!
When should I schedule my child’s first dental visit?
We encourage parents to schedule their child’s first dental visit as early as six months of age and no later than their first birthday. This visit will consist of the dentist checking their gums and mouth, and it will help set the tone that the dental office is a safe and supportive environment your child doesn’t have to fear. We actually have a certified pediatric dentist on-staff just for taking care of little smiles, Dr. Alex Okoye!
Can you help with a dental emergency?
Yes! If you or a loved one are experiencing a lot of dental pain due to a broken/knocked out tooth or severe toothache, you can always call our office to get the immediate care you need. We’re often able to make same-day appointments for emergency patients, so don’t hesitate to come see us when you need dental care right NOW.
Do I have to get metal braces to straighten my teeth?
Not anymore! For adult and teen patients with misaligned teeth, we’re now able to offer them Invisalign, an orthodontic treatment that completely does away with the traditional bracket and wire system. Instead, it uses a series of clear plastic aligner trays to shift the teeth while completely preserving the natural appearance of the smile. Better yet, the trays are 100% removable as well for easy eating and tooth brushing. To see if this treatment would be a good fit for you, contact us today.
I just want my smile to look better…can you help?
Yes! We have an entire selection of cosmetic treatments that are specifically designed to beautify the smile and get rid of noticeable flaws like stains, chips, cracks, and gaps. Whether you simply want teeth whitening or a complete smile makeover, we can guarantee beautiful, lasting results in just one or two easy appointments.
Why would I get Botox from a dentist?
First of all, convenience! Nothing is better than getting your teeth cleaned, whitened, and taking care of pesky facial wrinkles all at the same place. Also, as a dentist with special training in facial aesthetics, Dr. Derek Song is uniquely qualified to utilize Botox in a way that is safe, reliable, and delivers fantastic results. With just 10 extra minutes at your next dental appointment, he can give you smoother and more youthful-looking skin you’ll be able to enjoy for months to come.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
Our practice accepts most insurances, and we can even provide in-network benefits for those with Delta Dental Premier, Altus, and Cigna plans. We’ll help you understand your benefits and work to get the most out of your coverage at every visit. To learn how we can use your particular plan, contact us today.
I don’t have dental insurance…is there still a way I can avoid paying full price?
Yes! All you need to do is sign up for our in-house savings plan. For just $29 a month, you’ll get 2 exams, cleanings, and 1 emergency exam, which is all the basic dental care you’ll need for the year! On top of that, you’ll also receive 20% OFF any restorative or cosmetic treatments, including dental crowns, porcelain veneers, and much more.
